- Datasheet
- Performance: Supports 4x4 MIMO with three spatial streams, delivering data rates up to 450 Mbps on 802.11n. It is known for sustaining higher speeds further from the AP, providing up to three times more availability of 450 Mbps rates compared to competing solutions .
- Modular Design: Features a modular architecture allowing for flexible add-on options. It can be upgraded with an IEEE 802.11ac Wave 1 module to boost performance up to 1.3 Gbps, or a Wireless Security Module .
- Advanced RF: Includes Cisco CleanAir technology for proactive spectrum intelligence to avoid interference and ClientLink 2.0 for improved downlink performance and extended mobile device battery life .
- Deployment: This is a controller-based access point (using CAPWAP). It requires a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) to operate; it does not support standalone/autonomous mode .
Hardware & Deployment Considerations
- Models: The 3602I has integrated internal antennas. The 3602E has connectors for up to four external dual-band antennas .
- Power & Ports: It uses standard PoE+ (802.3at) and includes a single Gigabit Ethernet uplink port .
- Lifecycle Status: The Aironet 3600 Series is End-of-Life (EoL). The last date of support was December 31, 2021. The recommended replacement is the Cisco Aironet 3802 Series .
